  1. Hi Yvonne!

First of all I want to commend you on your business philosophy of using environmental and health friendly cleaning products! I am completely on board with you at a personal level as that’s all I use in my household!

I thought that I would type out a few of my ideas that may inspire you:

1). I don’t know if you have any future plans of franchising your biz, but since it is currently fairly localized to the Edmonton, Alberta area, I wonder about ensuring that you are present on every local directory.

As an example along those lines, I’m thinking that if you google “Meetups” or “Tweetups,” and enter your geographical region of Edmonton, it would give you a list of related groups that you may benefit from being associated with.

3). Again, as far as local exposure, I’m wondering about being a guest expert at an event within your industry. For example, environmental awareness, eco-living, even a parent association would probably be a good source (I know many parents are concerned with what chemicals they are bringing into their household in terms of their children’s exposure).

If you are attending any sort of Edmonton networking events, perhaps if you carry along an order form that allows you to take credit card information for your services (and has call-to-action on it, as everything should such as business cards, etc.) right on the spot.

I also wonder about you getting a guest spot on local radio as an expert about your topic of expertise. I know environmental and health friendly cleaning products are a huge, expandable topic that the public can be educated about. Press releases are good too as you are offering such a socially conscious service.

4). If you know your market precisely, I wonder about preparing flyers, leaflets, tips sheets or the like that talk about their problem, your solution and your benefits, and leave them directly in the neighborhoods. Professional-looking ones can easily be created on a home computer. (Eg. Corporate business neighborhoods, specific residential neighborhoods, or even daycares, etc.). And, of course, continuous business card distribution is important too. (I found a local environmentally friendly home cleaner’s business card in a naturopath’s office!)

5). Maybe your current customers could be given customer incentives to have them help bring in more customers.

6). I checked out your website, and I felt that it could be spruced up a bit. I would think that a call-to-action box where you offer a free giveaway and a weekly or bi-weekly ezine that could possibly give tips, hints, reviews of your industry would be helpful. I know that I would love tips on safe products or homemade products that I could use in my home!!

I also felt that the website could explain more of the direct benefits of your company (enhanced health with no dangerous chemicals, helping the environment, etc.) on its home page, easier navigation by de-cluttering it, as well as correcting the spelling errors that are on it.

    Hope this helps!

    Sincerely,
    Ann-Michele
