Unfortunately the dialogue between most sellers and buyers never extends beyond the trading situation - in fact I would say that is true in around 80% of cases (good old Pareto!)

However, professional salesmen and women who can bring something "extra" to the table, whether that be industry inside information, competitor data, or as you suggest, trending analysis, create a symbiotic relationship, which differentiates them and they soon begin to reap the benefits.
